Key insight
TerminalFix variant of ClickFix targets Windows Terminal/PowerShell to increase successful execution of multi-line commands and enable direct network access via reverse tunnel.
Description
The TerminalFix campaign is a variant of ClickFix that exploits compromised websites displaying a fake Cloudflare CAPTCHA to trick users into executing malicious PowerShell commands. Unlike classic ClickFix campaigns that direct victims to the Run dialog, TerminalFix targets Windows Terminal, increasing the likelihood of successful multi-line script execution. Upon execution, the malware establishes a reverse tunnel for direct access to the internal network. The campaign has been observed across multiple industries and enables attackers to perform reconnaissance and lateral movement to additional systems.
