NATO Admiralty (AJP-2.1) grades confidence, independent of the risk score. Cross-source corroboration isn't tracked for non-CVE news, so single-source items are capped at a lower credibility number; a low number does not imply low quality.

Key insight
The report contains no insights beyond patch information, as it is a pure NVD entry with no indication of active exploitation.
Description
A vulnerability in the iomap subsystem of the Linux kernel has been resolved. The error occurs when fs_bio_integrity_alloc does not allocate an integrity payload because PI verification is disabled on the block device. In iomap_bio_read_folio_range_sync, fs_bio_integrity_free is then called, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. The fix checks whether a payload exists before freeing it and extends the condition to PI verification. Linux systems with corresponding block integrity configurations are affected; an NVD entry exists, and active exploitation is not known.
