Key insight
The vulnerability enables unauthenticated access to AD accounts by exploiting RFC 4513-compliant LDAP implementations that accept anonymous binds.
Description
Parse Server versions up to 8.6.87 and 9.0.0 through 9.10.1-alpha.7 contain an authentication bypass in the built-in LDAP adapter. The adapter accepts empty passwords and treats any non-error response from the directory as successful authentication. An attacker knowing a username can obtain a valid session token for that account, resulting in account takeover. Only deployments with the LDAP adapter enabled are affected; directories that reject unauthenticated simple binds are not vulnerable. Fix requires upgrade to 8.6.88 or 9.10.1-alpha.7.
