Description

CVE-2026-89762 affects a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AppArmor subsystem. The function begin_current_label_crit_section() can cause the cred structure to become invalid during a concurrent update of AppArmor profiles. Triggering is possible locally, for example when a process is blocked during a profile change and then resumes. The vulnerability has been fixed in the kernel; no public exploit or active attacks are known. Affected are Linux systems that use AppArmor, particularly distributions such as Ubuntu.
